and here I sit one year later

who would have thought as I gaze out into my garden, with a sense of déjà vu, the snowdrops are withering and hopeful daffodils smile back, bright and sunny.

Life goes on and much has happened. The one constant and predictable is my garden, my sanctuary and saviour, along with my family, the things that make life valuable and worth the struggle.

But something else has also been a key in this – my art practice.

Art and the people in my art world have also helped me to hold on to purpose and sanity- although I sometime question that I have managed that.

Reflecting on the past year I see what is important to me and what I will take into my future life, what have I most missed during this enforced isolation.

In the past few weeks I have been delighted by the return of nesting robins, muntjac deer, the fox family that have returned to their den at the bottom of the garden, and various birds that frequent the bird bath and feeders in the trees. I may not be allowed to see my friends and family, art exhibitions, theatre or have my complete freedom but the garden is always there to entertain and delight me every morning and remind me that life and nature goes on…..

Happy Life.

A happy place to cheerup your soul and embrace your life.
