hertford-art-fest-logo2017placeholderHertford Town Council has announced details of Hertford Arts Festival 2017.  The festival runs from Friday 7th April to Sunday 7th May with the opportunity for local artists and businesses to sign up to take part in the festival’s annual Hertford Art Trail.

Last year, 18 talented artists showcased their work during the Trail, with each one allocated a prime town centre location to exhibit and sell work for a month.

This year’s pop up venues located around Hertford town centre will include retailers, bars and cafes, beauty salons and gift shops.

The Art Trail will launch on Friday 7th April at Hertford Castle where artists will preview one work from their month-long pop up art exhibition. The Trail runs from Saturday 8th April – Sunday 7th May with free entry at all venues.

In addition to the Art Trail, the festival encompasses the Street Arts Festival and the Hertford Castle Craft Market & Open Day. The festival also covers local exhibitions, activities and performances including Hertford Theatre Week, Courtyard Arts Open Exhibition and the Hertford Arts Society Open Exhibition.

Courtyard Arts is once again delighted to be partnering with Hertford Town Council with the Arts Trail and we would love to hear from artists of all abilities (and working in any media) who would like to take part. Not only do you get great exposure for your work but you also retain 85% of the value of your work which sells. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be seen and be sold!

Artists will each be allocated a prime town centre location in which to display and sell their work for the whole one-month period of the trail; with commission paid to each of the locations of 15% this really does give you a cost-effective and rewarding way of showing and selling your work. With a fee of just £30 per artist (of which 50% goes to support Courtyard Arts and its work in the community) there really is no reason not to take part.
