My yearly pilgrimage to St Ives or twice if possible, always includes a visit to Barbara Hepworth and the garden. It has a magical mystical and deeply meditative feeling every time I visit. I sit and contemplate her life and work and try to imagine a connection. For the past few years I have also snapped my reflection in her studio mirror to somehow validate my being there? That sounds a bit fanciful but all the same ‘Caryl was here’ and of course so is the resident black cat.
