The Studios at the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, St Ives | Tate.
I have just returned from a fabulous week in St Ives, during the Arts Festival.
My annual pilgrimage to Barbara Hepworth Garden has left me with wonderful feelings of peace and renewed love for the place.
A visit to Tate St Ives for International Exchanges: Modern Art and St Ives 1915-1965 did not disappoint.
The Exchange in Penzance adorned with stunning colourful large scale works by Sandra Blow ( continues until October 4th) is well worth a visit.
Newlyn Art Gallery is showing Gareth Edwards: Stupid Beauty. Again well worth a visit as is the amazing and beautiful ceramics by the Irish potter Jack Doherty:
Every time I visit St Ives and the surrounding area I have to refresh my memory and take a trip to various beautiful coves found all around the coastline here. Too many to visit during one trip, this time The Lizard, Godrevy Lighthouse and Chapel Cove.
Some of the steps have been washed away, a victim to the winter storms, so a different approach via a narrow path led me to this part of the beach and I captured on camera these pretty little birds:
On the subject of birds I also had a lucky ‘catch’ in St Ives when I was about to snap some young seagulls, a small dog ran on to the beach and as they took flight I caught them on camera!
