It has been in the Trust’s possession since 1957.We have a small ball press, continuous workbenches around two sides with shelving underneath, a long sink for print washing, rubber roller, blotting area, laminar flow wet bench system extractor unit, a drying rack up to A1 and one ball rack, an aquatint box, a guillotine for cutting metal and plastic plates, plastic plates for monoprinting, a heating plate, glass plates and stones, lockable store room for storing hazardous materials and plan chests with drawers available for dedicated use. The building has full central heating and hot and cold running water. Full disabled access with the print area on the ground floor.Print membership entitles artists to use the workshop on a specified/designated day each week and store equipment/materials on site in a lockable cupboard and large plan chest drawer. Members are also invited to take part in Digswell arts events such as Open Studios, group exhibitions, art critiques and meetings.Print members apply in a similar manner to Fellows, with a consideration of creative commitment being an important factor. They will need to be proficient in their chosen discipline and adopt good studio practice as members share responsibility for the care and maintenance of the print workshop and equipment. Prospective print members are invited to book one of our open access sessions run by printmaker Sally Tyrie. These sessions provide a superb induction to the workshop and facilities and are a useful reminder for those who maybe a little rusty.
