Permindar Kaur, Nottingham. Things are not quite right in Permindar Kaur’s nursery playground, which is stuffed with cuddly toys that turn out to be more nasty than nice. One row of floppies, resembling cosy hot-water bottle covers, are seen on closer inspection to sprout mean-looking beaks, talons and claws. Elsewhere, red-uniformed soldiers are pinned to the gallery wall with spears artfully pierced through their jugulars, and rubber floor mats resemble pools of human-shaped blood.
