RTDP : Relief

Macro photography can be an inspiration in many ways. The detail unseen by the eye can be revealed and magnified into abstracted shapes and surfaces creating a many layered relief of imagery. An earlier layered oil painting incorporating wire forms and marble dust, carborundum and pigments dusted onto the surface, the wire form partly detached from the oil, anchoring it to the canvas. The macro photographs of discarded objects, left to rust and fragment, the paint peeling and disintegrating, battered by rain and bleached and dried by the sun, creating a wonderful surface of rust and fragments of metal.
