Silent Sunday : Inspiration


Looking for inspiration to make new work…following a Zoom meet up with artists from our studio in Digswell I was inspired to reflect on my recent work which was very much focused on ‘the garden’ as we were planning an exhibition as part of Welwyn Garden Centenary- Exploring aspects of Garden Cities and our response to the ethos of a utopian city and community.

Now isolated at home I considered the paradox of life confined within this so called utopia.

Here are few early sketch book thoughts I have brought together:

  1. I love them, Caryl. I was playing with some similar bleakness in my photo edits last night – though outdoor images rather than indoor. I am sure there will be some interesting exhibitions of lockdown art once such physical sharing is allowed again.
